Like many people I am getting itchy feet, I have my bikes ready to and now finally we can go on them! We have loads of lovely bike rides around here, both on road and MTB bikes, I prefer road bikes but our mountains attract many MTB fans who love the tricky and spectacular routes.Continua a leggere “Bike rides”

Places to walk
One of the hardest things for me personally with the lockdown is not being able to do a decent walk or run, I know it is a very minor problem though and there are far worse things to worry about (usually at 3.30 am) So to cheer myself I was thinking which walks I wouldContinua a leggere “Places to walk”
The lockdown continues….
Well it’s now over a month on total lockdown, it’s weird how you get used to stuff, I long to go for a decent walk with the dogs to the top of the tracks and look down on the lake. I haven’t been out of our immediate surroundings, not even to the curve in theContinua a leggere “The lockdown continues….”
Places to visit
Well being stuck in here, although very lovely, makes me think about where I want to go when I get ‘out’. My favourite villages strangely enough are not on the lake itself but up the Valtellina valley. We have strong links with this valley, not just because Giulio is Valtellinese – he was born inContinua a leggere “Places to visit”
On a lighter note – if you don’t have a sense of humour don’t read this…..
Well after my more serious article about the Black Death I thought a bit more humour today, after all today even more restrictions! As Monty Python said, ‘always look on the bright side of life’ a bit hard when we need to do even less now and it’s raining out. Then we stop at theContinua a leggere “A bit of history, actually rather a lot!”

I keep getting lovely emails from guests asking how we are… keep them coming!!! it is great to hear from people and know that they care about you… although we criticise the social media it is so useful for keeping in touch, when you cant go andContinua a leggere “People at the ‘front line’ of this ‘war’ the unsung heroes”
‘Stufa’ – Bored with emails
Every day I open my emails and there are emails from guests who have to cancel, I can tell they are really upset about having to cancel but of course have no choice. Most are already booking for the next year or later on… I really feel for them, you can tell that they wereContinua a leggere “‘Stufa’ – Bored with emails”
An idea
Hope you like it, I think it’s important to think ahead, I know now is pretty grim but it will end…. for this reason we have decided to do something for our guests. Something more personal. If you have booked your holidays with us this year and you can’t come due to this horrible virus,Continua a leggere “An idea”
What will tourism be like after all this?
Even though there are far bigger problems due to the coronavirus I can’t help wondering what tourism will be like after this? Will people feel safe travelling? Yesterday I was talking about how there were less planes travelling over Livigno, will this become the norm? Italy tourism industry is worth 13.3% of its GDP, itsContinua a leggere “What will tourism be like after all this?”
